TORONTO - Laughter takes over the world on Sunday, May 4thin celebration of World Laughter Day – our 5th annual. Toronto Laughter Clubs come together along with over 5000 laughter clubs around the world on all 5 continents. Come join in the world-wide celebration of laughter and experience the peace and better health it brings.
So why the big Hoo Haa? The world needs more laughter and Toronto is the right place to bring people together to celebrate World Laughter Day. Dr. Kataria has trained hundreds of leaders in Toronto, and laughter clubs have been taking off ever since. World Laughter Day 2007 was a huge hit with both the public and the media. In the years past, the event has been covered by virtually every news station and print media across the country and spread world-wide. The Toronto club alone brought out over 150 people last year, let’s make a difference this year and show the world that Toronto knows how to laugh it up!
Toronto will be laughing with people across North America, from Yellowknife to Los Angeles. They'll also be laughing it up in India, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, U.K., Hungary, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and scores of other countries around the globe.
Laughter Yoga was started in Mumbai, India by Dr. Madan Kataria, a family doctor, who first proclaimed World Laughter Day in 1998. Since then the phenomenon of Social Laughter Clubs has exploded. Now there are 2,500 laughter clubs worldwide in public parks, offices, factories, recreation centres, schools, nursing homes, schools and people’s homes.
"World Laughter Day is a great opportunity to laugh and let Torontonians experience the benefits of laughter yoga."

Laughter clubs create a place where people can go and laugh stress away. Like yoga, laughter is a way to balance the mind, body, and spirit in a healthy way. Laughter releases inner joy and is wonderful medicine for whatever ails you. After all, experiencing more laughter adds to your energy and enthusiasm for work and life.
