Summer has arrived! It may be August but it's finally starting to feel like Summer and it's been a wurlwind with festivals for Cat*PR.
NEW COMPELLING CASES + HIGHLIGHTS

The Toronto Fringe FestivalCat*PR worked on CONTRACT with the Festival from April-July 2009. Now in their 21st year with affordable accessible theatre and they're not ashamed of a cheap and easy reputation... in fact, they're considered "well loved" with 1200 participating artists and 100% of ticketed box office earnings going back to the artists.
As usual the festival was unjuried, unexpected and unforgettable!
Cat*PR put together a full publicity campaign targeting media across Canada and as a result, The Fringe Festival had a record breaking year with over 60,000 Ticketed Patrons to the shows which is almost 3.5% increase in attendance from last years shows. Approximately 12,000 people attended the Free Fringe Club Parties (un-ticketed / late-night events & DJ/Dancing) which is almost a 15% increase in attendance at The Fringe Club for FREE events. In total, over $450,000 was returned to participating artists and as always, the Fringe operates as a non-profit organization which ensures that each year 100% of ticketed box office earnings go back to the companies. There were five COVER stories in Eye Weekly, Now Magazine and the Toronto Star along with over 70 articles, hundreds of web hits and radio and TV coverage. Definitely a record breaking year!

The Toronto Burlesque FestivalCat*PR also worked with this Festival, now in their second year, targeting selected media for coverage.
The Festival was an exciting four-day whirlwind of bump ‘n grind! Offering a unique opportunity to experience the best of burlesque and variety entertainment. Each of the four performances featured outstanding acts from Toronto locals, burlesque and variety artists from across Canada, and many international headlining acts that have earned top accolades in the Burlesque world!
This year’s theme was "Tassels Without Borders," to celebrate the international flavour of our Festival. As a result the festival was sold-out every night and received a ton of media attention including The Toronto Star What's On Cover, the cover of the Washington Times and was featured in Marketing Magazine for their partnership with Hendrix Gin. Coverage also included CBC Radio-Canada, CFRB as well as television coverage from bpm TV, BBN3.com and various web media and photographers such as MOPO attended to capture the amazing performances.

WHAT'S NEW?Now that the festivals have wrapped up it's time to think about the fall-winter season and Cat*PR is working with MEOW FILMS on a variety of projects with their series ~Night at the Indies~ including a special event entitled ‘PIMP MY ART’ for the Scotiabank Nuit Blanche Toronto OCTOBER 3rd, 2009.
For one sleepless night experience the city transformed by more than 550 artists for Toronto’s fourth annual sunset to sunrise celebration of contemporary art. Discover art in galleries, museums and unexpected places. From churches and grocery stores to chimney stacks and bus stations, choose from more than 132 installations and chart your own path.
~Night at the Indies~ presents ‘PIMP MY ART’
An official Nuit Blanche Partner, the Gladstone Hotel will present over 100 artists and performers in two floors of the hotel. Last year’s attendance was over 35,000 at the Gladstone alone and Nuit Gladstone will feature ~Night at the Indies~ ‘PIMP MY ART’ with multimedia art, installations, live performances and audience participation.
